Ingredient Spotlight: Tamanu Oil
Tamanu oil, sometimes referred to as green gold, is an oil extracted from the fruit seeds of the Tamanu Nut Tree. The fruits, a familiar sight in the islands of Fiji and Tahiti, closely resemble a green apricot. For centuries, the locals have dried the seeds in the sun, and then extracted the precious oil. Once pressed, the oil is a lovely bluish green with a slight nutty scent.
Rich in omega fatty acids, Tamanu Oil can help keep skin moisturized. It contains antioxidants, which fight against damage from free radicals. Tamanu Oil helps boost collagen production which promotes smoother more supple skin. Tamanu Oil has anti-inflammatory properties, making it great for those with acne prone skin. It is known to help reduce the signs of scaring and hyperpigmentation. In the Polynesian islands of the South Pacific, Tamanu Oil is often used for its medicinal purposes, encouraging wounds to heal and calm insect bites.
The "do it all" nature of Tamanu Oil is why I chose this powerful oil to be included in our Melting Balm, Luxe Face Oil, Twenty-Nine Botanical Serum, Lip & Eye Balm, The Luxe Lotion and The Rich Cream. Meaning each of these products have benefits that help soothe and soften the skin while boosting the production of collagen. Help with inflammation cause by acne and help speed up the healing process. Resulting in a brighter more moisturized and clearer skin.
