Article: A Certain Hour
A Certain Hour
There is a certain hour in summer I love.
It's the moment just before golden hour hits.
The heat of the day is still there, but the light begins to change. Everything softens. For a few minutes, the sky and everything around it take on this almost lavender hue.
The light hits just right.
That is when I think Pomelo Sensual smells its best.
I have always loved grapefruit in fragrance. There is something about that first sharp brightness. Clean. Immediate. Almost impossible not to notice.
But I didn't want Pomelo Sensual to stay there.
I wanted it to shift.
It opens with grapefruit, bergamot, may chang and sweet orange. An immediate burst of citrus. Then rose, jasmine, geranium and ylang ylang begin to come through.
Then sandalwood. Vetiver. Patchouli. Cedarwood. Frankincense.
It gets warmer.
A little earthier.
More sensual.
The same way the light changes at the end of a summer day. You look up and suddenly everything feels softer. Warmer. The day hasn't ended, but something else has started.
That is Pomelo Sensual to me.
I think that is what I love most about natural fragrance. It moves. The grapefruit you smell when you first put Pomelo Sensual on isn't the same fragrance you smell on your skin hours later.
It has lived with you for a while.
Maybe that is why I always come back to it in summer.
It reminds me of that hour when the day begins to turn. Drinks that become dinner. Dinner that goes later than expected. Warm skin. The last bit of sunlight disappearing.
Brightness turning into something deeper.

Dillon
